How to Measure Your Body
Getting the perfect fit shirt starts from identifying your measurements. If you’re ordering a bespoke shirt, one way to enter your size is to measure your body. The following explanations and graphics will guide you through the measuring process to order your ANK perfect fit shirt.
Alternatively, you can also use our standard size chart, or send us a shirt you believe to be an ideal fit.
When taking your body measurements, it is best to use a soft measuring tape (tailor’s tape) since it is the easiest to wrap around your body. It may be easiest to take the measurements with the assistance of a friend or partner, however most measurements can also be taken individually.

Collar size:
Collar size from the lowest part of the neck around the base, where the top button sits. Ensure you can fit a finger between your neck and the measuring tape to allow room for comfort.

Shoulder width:
Start the end of the measuring tape on the outside edge of your shoulder, this is where the seam between your shoulder and arm starts. Measure up over the curve of the shoulders and to the outside edge of the other shoulder, ensuring the tape sits flat and rests on your shoulders throughout. Stand in a relaxed, natural pose with your arms hanging down.

Sleeve length:
Make sure you start the sleeve length from the finish point of your shoulder measurement and down to the end of your wrist, where your hand starts to widen (Use shoulder seam on shirt or the downward slope of the arm as a guide).

Bicep
Stand in a relaxed and natural position with your arms hanging down by the side. Measure around the fullest part of your bicep, probably closer towards your armpit (You don’t have to flex, noone’s looking)

Wrist
The wrist measurement is taken as a circumference measurement around your wrist bone.

Half – chest (Front only)
Measure in a straight line from armpit to armpit (the point where your chest and arm meet), with both arms down and relaxed in a natural position.

Chest
Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your chest, tight up under your armpits, over your shoulder blades and back. Stand in a natural position with your arms slightly away from your body to be clear of any obstructions, let your arms hang down once the tape is full wrapped around. Do not puff out your chest or arch your back in any sort of pose that isn’t natural or sustainable. The tape should be snug on the skin, but not squeezing in.

Waist
This measurement is not the same waist measurement used for trousers. Measure around your waistline, roughly at the level of your belly button, mostly the narrowest part of your waist. Please stand in a relaxed and natural position without holding your breath in and ensure the measuring tape is straight around the back as well as the front.

Seat
Measure around the seat ensuring the tape stays straight all the way around. The seat measurement sits below the hip bones, roughly mid-way of the front crotch and back pockets of your trousers.

Length
Place the tape just under the collar from the back, running it down your body just below the cuff (or till the end of your back pocket). You may prefer to keep it slightly longer if you plan on tucking the shirt in, or slightly shorter if you plan to keep it un-tucked.
